The Film "Legion" And What You Need To Know About It

By Daryl Mitchell

Every single year tons of movies are released with the hopes that audiences will love them. While there are certainly many movies that might have been very well received throughout 2010, it might be safe to suggest that one of the most acclaimed films of this year was the impressive action film "Legion".

Before you can really make a decision one way or another you are going to have to see the film. Before you are going to want to see the film, you might care to know a little more about the plot and some of the names that you can expect to see in the film itself. With that being said, you can look to this plot synopsis as a little better introduction to the film.

You should be relieved, though, that this particular synopsis will not give you spoilers to the story. With that being said, if you have not seen the film and wanted to learn just a little more about it, you should read entirely through this article. This will not spoil some of the bigger factors of the film for you.

The film opens on a couple of friends, Jeep and Charlie, who are sharing a moment on a rickety swing set around their mobile home. Charlie is pregnant, and Jeep is trying to tell her that he could provide security for her and the baby. He wants to be there for her, but she does not seem to be very receptive to the idea of him providing anything for her.

You are also quickly introduced to an overly aggressive archangel turned human named Michael (Paul Bettany). He has been sent to orchestrate the demise of the human race, but instead has decided to give the world another chance at survival. You see, unseen to the inhabitants of Earth, God has become displeased with mankind's disobedience. He has decided to eradicate his creation, and instead of a flood he is sending an army of death dealing angels to do the job.

The salvation of the entire world rests with one child, the child that is inside of Charlie. Now, the end of the world is on the doorstep, and a group of people are held up inside of the business that Jeep's father, Bob (Dennis Quaid) owns. Now there are leagues of angel possessed humans that are trying to kill Charlie and her baby, and consequently anyone that stands in their way.

The hope of her protection rests in Michael, the angel that has become human to save mankind. He tells in the movie about how he was able to watch the world formed and mankind created, and he too loved them as much as God did. He will risk everything to see it survive. There will be nothing that will stop him, except perhaps an epic showdown with a former friend and angel military leader. This battle will likely determine the fate of the entire world.

"Legion" is quite an exceptional film. It ties in concepts that have rarely been touched upon and a visual masterpiece on the screen. While there are certainly other things to know and appreciate about this film, this should be a great place to get you started if you had just wanted to get a little more information. - 40727
